Guide construction

PREPARATION

Materials: RARE radiant paint is supplied ready-to-use. Do not mix with any additional chemicals, especially not with water. Choose a sunny and dry day for painting. Cloudy or humid weather can affect adhesion and the overall quality of the paint.

Recommended Application:

3 Layers of Paint:

  • Primer (optional): Not mandatory for easy-to-adhere surfaces, but it enhances adhesion and overall durability. It is recommended for all surfaces, especially metal.
  • Two Crossed Layers of Radiant Paint: This is sufficient to achieve the ideal cooling effect. Applying fewer layers will reduce the effect, while more layers can cause peeling due to excess thickness.
  • Protective Layer: Very important for overall durability. Apply very thinly to avoid reducing the radiant cooling effect.

Paint Spray Guns: Suitable for both small and large spray guns.

Safety: Solvent-based paint is flammable. Do not expose to prolonged sunlight or keep near open flames. Seal tightly with Teflon tape or plastic caps to prevent solvent evaporation, which can alter the mix ratio.

SURFACE CLEANING

Old Metal Surfaces: Clean rust thoroughly with a grinder or sandpaper, then rinse well with water and let it dry completely.

New Metal Surfaces: If not very dirty, clean with high-pressure water.

Cement/Wall Surfaces: Clean with minimal water to prevent moisture from seeping into cracks, which can cause peeling later. For newly built walls, wait 2 weeks for thorough drying.

Note: Cleaning the surface is crucial for ensuring good adhesion and long-term performance of the paint.

PRIMER APPLICATION

Materials: Use the primer provided with the heat-resistant paint. This is a single-component PU primer (marked as Primer A). Stir thoroughly before use. After stirring, add the provided Primer B (solvent for the paint) in a pre-measured ratio of 75:25 (A:B). Stir thoroughly before applying.

Application: Use a regular spray gun, roller, or brush. One thin layer is sufficient.

Rust Prevention: A thick layer of primer can prevent rust on the underlying surface.

Cleaning: Clean with the provided solvent (acetone, cleaning solution).

RARE RADIANT PAINT APPLICATION

Materials: Acetone-based paint with acrylic resin.

Small Spray Gun Application: Keep the gun about 15 cm from the surface and spray evenly. Suitable for small surfaces only.

Large Spray Gun Application: High productivity and efficiency. May require slightly higher air pressure. However, avoid too high pressure as it can create fine particles. Use Graco 513 nozzle.

Number of Layers: Spray at least 2 crossed layers, but 3 layers are recommended to ensure adequate thickness. Do not exceed 5 layers as the thick paint film can easily peel off.

Notes:

  • Radiant paint initially appears colorless. After about 5 minutes, it will turn white, indicating readiness for the next layer.
  • Acetone-based paint dries quickly, which can clog the spray gun. Do not leave paint in the gun for long periods. Spray continuously during application. If clogging occurs, clean and flush with acetone if necessary.
  • Liquid RARE paint will clump if it contacts water. Do NOT mix with water. Do not paint in rainy conditions.

Cleaning: Clean the spray gun only with acetone. Using water will clog the gun and prevent further use. After cleaning the gun and hoses with acetone, flush with additional acetone for 10 minutes.
